Prep Soccer : Estancia, Troy in Title Game After Anaheim Is Upset, 6-1

The Estancia High School boys soccer team advanced to the Southern Section 2-A final by beating defending 2-A champion Anaheim, 6-1, at Costa Mesa Tuesday.
The Eagles will meet Troy at Gahr High Saturday at 4 p.m. in the 2-A final.
John Corrigan led the attack with two goals, both in the first half, when the Eagles jumped out to a comfortable 4-1 lead. Corrigan’s first goal came on a throw-in pass that bounced off of an Anaheim defender’s shoulder and into the net.
Corrigan scored his second goal for Estancia (19-2-4) on an assist from Alfonso Estrada. Anaheim ends its season at 17-7-2.
In other 2-A playoff action:
Troy 3, LaSalle 2 (OT)--The Warriors will meet Estancia in the 2-A championship game as a result of an overtime win over the visitors from Pasadena. It was LaSalle’s first loss of the season.
In Boys 4-A playoff action:
Foothill 1, Palos Verdes 0--The Knights advance to the 4-A championship game against Culver City at Gahr High Friday at 8 p.m. with this semifinal win at Palos Verdes.
In Girls 4-A playoff action:
El Toro 2, Torrance 1 (OT)--In an upset, the Chargers dumped the Tartars in overtime to advance to Saturday’s final against Claremont at 6 p.m. at Gahr High.
Claremont 1, Edison 0 (OT)--The Chargers fell one game short of the 4-A championship game by losing to the Wolfpack in overtime.
In Girls 3-A playoff action:
La Quinta 3, Camarillo 1--The Aztecs advance to Saturday’s Southern Section 3-A final at Gahr High at 6 p.m. courtesy of their two-goal semifinal victory at Camarillo.
