Heart Transplant Patient Dies

TUCSON — A young car mechanic who endured two heart transplants and 11 hours on a stopgap artificial blood pump died at 1:20 p.m. today, doctors at the University of Arizona Medical Center said.
Thomas Creighton, 33, had shown improvement in the functioning of his lungs and was breathing easier earlier in the day, although he still needed the help of a respirator, doctors said.
