Wilson, Grossmont Defeat San Marcos, 11-2
SAN DIEGO — Van Wilson pitched a one-hitter for six innings to lead the Grossmont High School baseball team to an 11-2 win on Thursday against San Marcos at Grossmont High.
Wilson (1-0) allowed single runs in the fourth and sixth innings before giving way to a relief pitcher in the seventh. The lone San Marcos hit came in the fourth inning. Wilson also was a hitting star for the Foothillers (1-1). He hit a two-run homer in the sixth inning, his second homer of the season. The big blow, however, was a grand slam by Danny Angotti in the fourth inning, which gave Grossmont a 7-1 lead.
