Saddleback College Swim Teams Win
The Saddleback College men’s and women’s swim teams scored victories over visiting Fullerton in South Coast Conference action Friday.
Rhett CheePing, a freshman from Trinidad, paced the men’s team to a 75-28 win. The Gaucho captain won the 200-meter butterfly, 200 freestyle and was a member of the winning 400 medley relay team. Saddleback’s David Miles, a freshman from Sydney, Australia, won the 200 breaststroke.
The Saddleback women won, 82-48, behind Patti Smith, who won the 50 free, 100 individual medley and was a member of the winning 200 medley relay team. She finished second in the 50 fly.
Saddleback (2-0) travels to Cerritos Friday and hosts the swimming portion of the Saddleback Pentathlon next Saturday.
