Carl Albert, Ex-Speaker of House, Has Operation

OKLAHOMA CITY — Carl Albert, former Speaker of the House of Representatives, underwent coronary bypass surgery Saturday night at Presbyterian Hospital after suffering unstable angina.
The operation on Albert, 76, was performed to detour the heart’s blood supply around several blocked or narrowed arteries.
