Two men were injured in an ammunition explosion aboard a U.S. Navy ship off the California coast. Both men suffered severe facial cuts, but were in stable condition when taken by Coast Guard helicopter from the Belleauwood, about 60 miles off the coast of San Francisco, according to John Reis, a Coast Guard petty officer. The identities of the injured men were not released, nor were any details of the explosion given. The men were taken to an Army hospital in San Francisco.
