Fullerton Gymnasts Dominate Meet
Cal State Fullerton’s Cody Oakland was named Pacific Coast Athletic Assn. gymnast of the year, Titan Coach Vern Wolfe was named PCAA coach of the year and the Titan gymnasts dominated the conference’s individual finals Saturday at San Jose.
In the floor exercises, the Titans took the top three spots: Russell Lacy (9.7), Harry Loupakis (9.6) and Ric Draghi (9.2). In the pommel horse, CSUF’s Scott Picquelle finished first with a score of 9.75, followed by Loupakis (9.45) and a third-place tie between Titan Phil Monard and San Jose State’s Zane Negrych (9.0)
Shawn McNulty from Fullerton finished first in the rings at 9.65, followed by Oakland (9.35) and Titan Russell Lacy (9.30). In the vault, Lacy finished first with 9.70, followed by Draghi (9.6) and Loupakis (9.4).
