The Region : Abortion Clinic Hit Again
An abortion clinic that has been the target of hate mail and demonstrations was firebombed for the second time in seven months, the 33rd such violent incident in the nation, authorities said. The firebomb was tossed through a side window of the Birth Control Institute, causing $10,000 to $25,000 damage in a lobby area, San Diego city fire spokesman Denis McNeill said. There were no injuries. An unsigned hate letter was sent to the clinic after the first attack last September, but the writer did not claim responsibility for the fire. No claims of responsibility were received for the latest firebombing, McNeill said.
