A story on the Digest page Thursday incorrectly named acclaimed Ethiopian artist Afewerk Tekle, who will speak tonight at 8 p.m. at an Ethiopian famine benefit at the Westin South Coast Plaza Hotel. The story also incorrectly said that persons contributing more than $350 could take home a porcelain work by one of four other artists, when in fact such contributors will be able to order a work by Tekle or one of three other artists.
Tekle’s awards include induction into the Toastmasters Hall of Fame in 1972 and the Gold Mercury International Award in 1982. Three other dinners at which he will appear for the benefit are planned in Los Angeles, Dallas, and either New York or Washington, D.C.
