Golden West Tops Westmont in Volleyball

Golden West College men’s volleyball team defeated visiting Westmont, 15-13, 15-8, 8-15, 15-7, Friday night in South Coast Conference play.
The Rustlers were once again led by freshman hitter Bill Brown, who had 25 kills and 12 blocks. Scott Gharmon had 14 kills and 7 blocks for Golden West (5-1, 7-1).
Westmont is 3-3 in conference play. Golden West plays host to Santa Barbara City College on Tuesday at 6 p.m..
In other volleyball action:
Chapman 3, La Verne 0--The Panthers had a relatively easy time, winning, 15-8, 15-9, 15-2, in Hutton Sports Center. The win was the first for Chapman in South Coast Conference play. The Panthers are 2-12 overall. Chapman plays host to Mt. San Antonio on Wednesday.
