San Juan Capistrano : Cocaine Sale Alleged in Couple’s Arrest at Home
Orange County sheriff’s deputies Monday arrested a San Juan Capistrano couple on suspicion of selling cocaine, authorities said.
Howard Glenn Carrell, a 30-year-old tool man for a local utility company, and Flora Wilhelmi, a 34-year-old medical researcher, were being held in lieu of $25,000 bond in the Orange County Jail, Sheriff’s Lt. Dick Olson said Monday.
Olson said the couple’s residence in the 25500 block of Via Solis was placed under surveillance after narcotics investigators received a tip from police in Los Angeles and Albuquerque, N.M., late last week.
At 3:30 a.m. Monday deputies served a search warrant, authorized via telephone by Orange County Superior Court Judge Lloyd E. Blanpied Jr.
Olson said a search of the residence turned up $5,200 in cash, one gram of cocaine valued at $100, one ounce of marijuana valued at $50, numerous ledgers noting narcotics transactions and a drug analysis kit commonly used by police.
