Man Fatally Stabbed Near Bar; Neighbor Is Arrested
A Fullerton man was found fatally stabbed behind a bar late Friday and a neighbor of the victim was arrested on suspicion of murder, police said Saturday.
Fullerton Police Sgt. Tony Hernandez said officers responded to a call at 10:55 p.m. at the El Sombrero Bar at 415 S. Harbor Blvd. and found the victim bleeding in an alley behind the tavern. He was identified as Alfredo Torres Lopez, 30, of Fullerton.
Paramedics treated Torres Lopez for multiple stab wounds at the scene before he was taken to Anaheim Memorial Hospital, where he died minutes after he arrived, Hernandez said.
The police spokesman said Jose Miguel Ceja Virgen, 29, was booked into the Fullerton City Jail on suspicion of murder and was being held in lieu of $250,000 bail. An investigation was continuing to determine whether others were involved in the stabbing, Hernandez said, adding that the incident may have started inside the bar.
