A 21-year-old Escondido man was killed Friday morning when a truck he was repairing at a construction site in Laguna Niguel slipped off a jack and crushed him, authorities said.
Robert Monita was pronounced dead shortly before 10 a.m. at Mission Community Hospital, where he had been taken after being extricated from beneath the water truck by the Orange County Fire Department, according to the Orange County coroner’s office.
