A former Brink’s employee, Charles E. Ostrout, pleaded guilty to charges in connection with the $3.6-million holdup of a Brink’s armored car near Ukiah by neo-Nazi bandits. Ostrout, 51, was one of 23 people, believed to be members of a group called the Order, who were indicted on federal racketeering charges. Ostrout was charged in San Francisco and the others were indicted in Seattle. Ostrout’s guilty plea suggested that he might be willing to testify against other defendants. The government reduced charges against him and allowed him to plead to a single racketeering count carrying a possible maximum prison penalty of 20 years.
