DONATIONS WORTH $500,000 GO FOR ARTS CENTER FUND

A $300,000 donation from Taco Bell has been given to the Orange County Performing Arts Center campaign.
The donation was presented by John Martin, president of the Irvine subsidiary of Pepsico Inc.
Michael and Carole Gilano of Newport Beach have contributed $100,000. Michael Gilano is founder and president of Trillion, a telecommunications company in Irvine.
Nine pianos have been donated to the Center by Yamaha International Corp. Provided on a long-term loan, the pianos have an overall value of more than $120,000, according to Richard O’Donnell, senior vice president of the Buena Park firm, a subsidiary of Nippon Gakki Co. Ltd.
More than $62 million has been raised toward an overall target of $85.5 million for the construction and endowment of the Center, now being built in Costa Mesa. The complex is set to open in fall, 1986.
