Panamanian Cabinet Resigns
From Reuters
PANAMA CITY — Panama’s 12-man Cabinet today submitted its resignation to allow President Nicolas Ardito Barletta to make policy changes, officials said. They said he will name a new Cabinet within 48 hours.
The move came as government opponents prepared to demonstrate Monday on the first anniversary of the election of Ardito Barletta, the civilian candidate of Panama’s powerful defense forces, who won by a paper-thin majority of 1,713 votes.
