Citicorp of New York, the world’s largest bank holding company, plans to open offices in Costa Mesa in August to serve as headquarters for its Southern California real estate, banking and Diner’s Club credit card operations. Citicorp officials said the company will lease 6,200 square feet at Center Tower, a luxury high-rise office building under construction.
MOS Scale International, a Costa Mesa manufacturer of electronic scales, signed a $17-million contract with the U.S. Postal Service that could quadruple the company’s staff from 25 to 100 and result in a major expansion of the 9-year-old company’s physical plant. To build the more than 5,000 scales ordered by the Postal Service, MOS is negotiating to move from its 10,000-square-foot headquarters to a 50,000-square-foot manufacturing facility in Tustin.
