Fire at Girls Home Kills Six Children

NEW DELHI, India — Fire caused by a short circuit raced through a shelter for homeless girls in the foothills of the Himalayas, killing six children and injuring three, authorities said Friday.
The fire struck the girls’ welfare home last week in Saharan, 260 miles north of New Delhi in Himachal Pradesh state.
