TEMPE, Ariz. — Rick Lundblade hit two home runs, and Stanford withstood an Arizona State homer barrage to beat the Sun Devils, 15-10, Sunday and clinch the Pacific 10 Southern Division baseball title.
Stanford, 21-6 in the Pac-10 and 37-11 overall, was leading, 12-4, before Arizona State’s Barry Bonds slugged a two-run homer in the eighth, his 23rd of the season, tops in the league.
It was his 10th in the last 11 games and left him two shy of Bob Horner’s school record of 25 homers, set in 1978.
