The World : Poles Aim at U.S. Embassy
Poland retaliated for the U.S. expulsion of four Polish diplomats by suspending air courier service for the U.S. Embassy in Warsaw. The service, in operation since 1957, brought food and other supplies to the embassy. “We will get by one way or another,” U.S. Embassy spokesman Paul Smith said. The four Poles were sent home from Washington in response to Warsaw’s ouster of two U.S. diplomats it accused of leading an illegal anti-government demonstration May 1.
