Overcharges
Very late it is, but the nation is finally aware of the gross overcharges by some, if not all, major defense contractors.
A small sample is the Boeing charge of $748 for two pairs of pliers. Adding insult to injury, Boeing’s spokesman, William Mc Guinty, issues the following statement: “If there are prices which appear unreasonable . . . we are doing something about it.” Another tacit admission of guilt is the offer of a refund.
As a small businessman, I should have found pliers manufacturing a lucrative endeavor, even at a discount, but I would likely now be facing legal charges of grand theft. Is Boeing?
