A $2-million contract for construction of a 67-unit housing complex for elderly and handicapped people has been awarded to Goldrich & Kest, a Culver City construction company.
Ground breaking for the housing complex, to be called the Lomita Kiwanis Garden, is expected in September, said Bill Middaugh, a spokesman for Lomita Kiwanis Garden Inc., a corporation composed of the Lomita-Harbor City Kiwanis and the Retirement Housing Foundation. Completion is expected in summer of 1986.
The housing project, for which rent will be subsidized by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, will be at 25109 Ebony Lane.
