Death Penalty Upheld for Slayer of Girl, 12

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — The Florida Supreme Court Thursday upheld the conviction and death sentence of Theodore Bundy for the 1978 murder of a 12-year-old girl.
It was the second time in a year the high court has rejected an appeal by Bundy. In June, the court denied an appeal of two convictions and death sentences in the murders of two Florida State University sorority sisters.
With all three of his death sentences affirmed, Bundy next will get an automatic clemency hearing. If clemency is denied, an execution date will be set.
