Are Fewer Cities Better Than More?
Your editorial “New Interest in Cityhood” (March 31), suggesting the feasibility of incorporating more cities in Orange County, makes me wonder if more cities, rather than fewer, would create a more efficient and economic operation.
I’ve often wondered why adjacent cities such as Artesia, Cerritos, La Palma and Cypress, with a combined population of maybe 75,000, couldn’t operate better as one city.
Or if La Habra, Brea, La Mirada, Fullerton, Placentia and Yorba Linda, with about 260,000 inhabitants, could provide a more desirable way of life as a single unit for its citizens.
I would be very much interested in whether Orange County would be better served with fewer cities.
