Retired Editor Named to Information Agency

WASHINGTON — President Reagan on Tuesday announced the appointment of former U.S. News & World Report Editor Marvin Stone as deputy director of the U.S. Information Agency.
Stone served as editor of the magazine from April, 1976, until April, 1985, when he retired after the magazine was sold. He joined U.S. News in 1960 as Pentagon correspondent. From 1949 to 1958, Stone was a war and foreign correspondent for International News Service. He has received numerous awards for his work in journalism.
