Blast Defeats Force, 7-4, to Reach MISL Final
BALTIMORE — Joe Fink and Richard Chinapoo scored two goals apiece, as the Baltimore Blast erased a halftime lead to defeat the Cleveland Force, 7-4, Tuesday night, advancing the Blast to the Major Indoor Soccer League championship round.
The Blast, who defeated the Force 3-2 in the best-of-five semifinal series, will face the Sockers.
Trailing 3-2 at halftime, Force forward Andy Chapman scored his third goal of the game and second hat trick in as many games to give the Force a 4-2 lead at 4:05 in the third quarter.
But the Blast came back as Fink scored two goals in a three minute span between the third and fourth quarters.
Jeff Prekazi scored at 7:37 to put the Blast up, 5-4, and Chinapoo scored his second goal, a short-handed one, to give Baltimore a 6-4 lead.
Tim Whittman scored with 24 seconds left in the game to ensure the Blast of its third straight trip to the championship round.
