Felony charges will not be filed against diminutive actor Herve Villechaize, who was arrested Wednesday at a Burbank hospital for carrying a stolen concealed weapon, the district attorney’s office said Thursday.
But Villechaize, who played Ricardo Montalban’s sidekick Tattoo on the “Fantasy Island” television series, could still be charged with a misdemeanor by the Burbank city attorney’s office, said Al Albergate, spokesman for the district attorney’s office.
Villechaize was arrested shortly before 3 a.m. at St. Joseph Medical Center when police found the loaded .38-caliber revolver in a bag he was carrying. Officers were called to the hospital by employees who said Villechaize, 42, was creating a disturbance.
