FAMILY BOND--A spy tipped Calendar that producer Albert R. (Cubby) Broccoli, 76, the father of the James Bond film series, has been thinking about bowing out after the next OO7 release, “A View to a Kill” (due Friday), to let his stepson, Michael G. Wilson, take over.
“Not true,” Wilson said. He conceded that as co-producer of five and co-writer of three Bond pictures, he is “gradually taking over more and more responsibility. But the idea of (Broccoli) retiring is not good for him and he recognizes that.”
Broccoli’s daughter Barbara has also joined the team as an assistant director and all-around production assistant. Wilson said no work has been done on a new Bond caper: “We’ll wait until after this one is out.”
