The Alabama State University Board of Trustees...
The Alabama State University Board of Trustees asked for the resignation of football Coach Jim Parker after the NCAA reportedly said 16 players either practiced or saw game action in violation of NCAA rules last season.
The Advertiser, a Montgomery, Ala., newspaper, said an NCAA report dated March 20 suggested a two-year probation and disciplinary action against Parker.
The newspaper said the report said the players were ineligible either academically or because they received institutional financial aid in violation of NCAA rules.
The Denver Nuggets said General Manager Paul Phipps is leaving the club immediately and his position has been eliminated. Nugget President Vince Boryla said the front office is being streamlined “to eliminate over-lapping areas of responsibility.”
