Smith International signed a contract with China.
Smith’s Irvine-based Dyna-Drill division reported that it will provide oil field equipment, training and technology to China Oil & Gas Exploration Development under a $9-million contract. The agreement calls for Dyna-Drill to help the Chinese design, build and staff three mud-motor manufacturing plants. The motors are used for oil and gas well drilling. The contract also calls for Dyna-Drill to provide training both in China and Irvine.
