Buena Park : Two Boys on Bicycle Hit, Injured by Cars
Two teen-age boys riding a bicycle against traffic in Buena Park were seriously injured Friday afternoon when they were struck by two cars, a police spokesman said.
Buena Park Police Sgt. Tony Kelly said the unidentified boys, ages 14 and 15, were riding north at about 4 p.m., with one steering and the other balanced on the handle bars, when they were hit by a southbound car on Knott Avenue near Melrose Street. The collision knocked both boys to the pavement and they were struck by another vehicle.
Both were treated by paramedics and airlifted to the UCI Medical Center, Orange, where they were in serious but stable condition, with multiple injuries.
Kelly said neither driver would be charged.
