A Huntington Beach man was hospitalized in critical condition after being shot by a police officer. Steven Dye, 30, was wounded after he allegedly threatened a Huntington Beach policeman with a gun on Florida Street near Memphis Avenue, according to a police spokesman. Dye was asleep in the front seat of a parked van at the time of the incident, the police spokesman said. He was awakened by two officers and allegedly brandished a gun.
