A 22-year-old man was killed Saturday when his car struck a light pole.
John Douglas Fontana, who resided in the 6200 block of Traverse Way, suffered head and chest injuries and was pronounced dead while firefighters worked to free him from the car, the coroner’s office reported.
Fontana was driving a leased car west in the 6900 block of Clairemont Mesa Boulevard when he swerved and struck the light pole in the median.
