Taking Sides on Abortion Issue

Laws are what men make them. If you doubt this, consider any Supreme Court ruling whose outcome was decided by a 5 to 4 vote.

One of my concerns regarding this mishandling of life by the lawmakers is that it may very well extend beyond the abortion issue.

Abortions are chosen because to carry the infant to term would be costly, inconvenient, mentally stressful, a burden on the family. Consider the elderly in nursing homes, the comatose or handicapped.

Most of us will grow old, many of us will become feeble and incapacitated. I’d prefer not to live in a society where my right to life could be decided by a 5 to 4 vote.
