Taking Sides on Abortion Issue
Thomas complained: “Planned Parenthood promised that once sex education was universal in public schools and contraceptives readily available, teen-age pregnancies would decline. Planned Parenthood got its way and teen-age pregnancies have increased.”
Thomas is wrong! Sex education is not universal in our public schools. There are many legal inhibitions against the effective teaching of sex education, and local pressure groups often halt whatever bland forms of sex education that are legal.
Planned Parenthood’s “promise” has never been fairly tested.
