Placentia : Public Budget Meeting Scheduled for Tuesday

Residents who want to have a say about the city’s proposed budget for 1985-86 can attend the sole public hearing on the issue Tuesday night.
City Council members, who already have held two study sessions on the $10.9-million budget, are expected to make a final decision after the public hearing, Placentia Finance Director Frank Dunnavant said.
The budget, which must be approved by June 30 according to the city’s charter, does not include any new programs. The only addition is an extra employee to handle business-license inspections and zoning enforcement, Dunnavant said. The added employee would cost the city about $30,000 a year, he said.
Last year’s budget was $10.7 million or 2% less than this year, Dunnavant said.
The public hearing Tuesday is scheduled to begin at 7:30 p.m. in City Hall, 401 E. Chapman Ave.
