Group W Gets Award: Buena Park’s Group W Cable company has been given the Award for Cable Excellence (ACE) for its documentary “The Great American Race.” The half-hour program focused on the cross-country, classic-car rally that begins in Los Angeles and ends in Indianapolis using only automobiles made before 1936. The ACE is considered cable television’s highest award. “The Great American Race” was produced by Lisa Yale and directed by Michael Ewing, both of Group W Cable in Buena Park. The program won its award for excellence in the “About Sports” category.
