Man Impaled on Tool in Agoura Hills Dies
Aconstruction worker was killed Saturday morning in Agoura Hills when he fell and was impaled on one of his tools.
Jorge Cordova, 32, of San Fernando was carrying a hod full of plaster at a house under construction at 20050 Quail Drive when he fell about 15 feet and landed on the handle of his hod, authorities said.
A hod is a V-shaped piece of metal connected to a long handle used to carry bricks and other construction materials.
There were no witnesses to the 7 a.m. accident, sheriff’s Sgt. Bill Larsen said.
Cordova fell from either a ladder or a scaffold, and several co-workers heard the fall, Larsen said. They took Cordova to Westlake Community Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
