The Region : 4 Marines Killed in Car-Truck Collision
Three Marines were killed instantly and a fourth died at a nearby hospital after their compact automobile was struck by a tractor-trailer rig in Tustin, the California Highway Patrol said. Names of the Marines were withheld pending notification of relatives. The four victims, all in uniform, were driving west on Irvine Boulevard when their car turned onto Redhill Boulevard and into the path of the eastbound tractor rig traveling at 45 m.p.h., CHP Officer Rufus Harrison said. “There was very little left of the car,” he said.
