A truck spilled part of its load of toxic chemicals in downtown Camarillo, forcing the evacuation of a two-block area, officials said. The liquid, a solvent, splashed out of an open valve in the truck as the driver, apparently oblivious to the spill, continued down Ventura Boulevard, Police Sgt. Noel Brown said. Authorities were searching for the truck. No injuries were reported. Police evacuated businesses near the spill as a precautionary measure and closed the street for several hours until cleanup operations were completed.
