Beating Victim, 83, Dies; Sister Critical
An 83-year-old Monrovia woman, who was found bludgeoned in her home on June 1, died Monday at Southern California Methodist Hospital in Arcadia, authorities said.
Mabel Bell is believed to be the fourth woman to have died at the hands of a killer who has terrorized the San Gabriel Valley in recent weeks, sheriff’s investigators said.
Her sister, Florence Lang, 81, who shared the home with the murder victim, also was attacked. She remains in critical condition.
