Alaska lawmakers heard testimony for the third straight day from the state’s leasing manager in their deliberations on the impeachment proceedings involving Gov. Bill Sheffield. Senate Rules Committee members, meeting in Juneau, were seeking to determine if the governor had placed undue pressure on Anselm Staack and other state employees handling lease specifications for a state office building. Staack, who earlier testified to “intense interest from the governor’s office,” said there often was pressure in handling leases.
