LEFTOVER LIVE AID
As a “born-again” Christian it is embarrassing for me to hear Pat Boone find fault with an event that raised $40 million to feed starving people because the music was not up to his moral standards.
Wasn’t it Boone himself who recorded “Tutti Frutti,” the sexually oriented Little Richard classic?
Sure, much of the music at the live aid show was not “of God” but then neither is selling Hoffy hot dogs on TV. The bottom line is that the intention of the Live Aid concert was to feed the hungry and that is indeed “of God.” I think before Boone tried to find the speck in the eye of Live Aid he should have taken the log out of his own (Matthew 7:3-5).
Good work, Live Aid Foundation, and keep rockin’ for the hungry.
