A recent ground-breaking ceremony at UC Santa Barbara, presided over by Chancellor Robert A. Huttenback, celebrated the first campus-developed housing aimed at strengthening UCSB’s ability to recruit and retain faculty members.
Located on 11.5 acres between the Devereux School and Isla Vista’s residential neighborhood, the project was designed by architect Paul Zajfen of the IBI Group, Corona del Mar.
The two town-house complexes will have a Mediterranean theme and will contain two- and three-bedroom units ranging in size from 1,800 to 2,000 square feet. The average selling price per unit is estimated at about $125,000.
