County Team Wins Softball Championship

The Orange County Batbusters routed the Akron Angels Monday, 11-0, to win the Amateur Softball Assn. national championship for girls 12-and under in St. Louis.
Cheryl Longeway pitched a one-hit shutout and struck out 15 to get the win. Shortstop Shannon Dolan led the Batbusters’ offense by going 4 for 4 with 4 RBIs and 3 runs scored.
