Man Shot by Stalker Gains
A 29-year-old Mission Viejo man, critically wounded Sunday in what is believed to be the most recent attack of the so-called Night Stalker, appeared to be improving Friday at an Orange County hospital.
A spokesman at Mission Community Hospital in Mission Viejo said William Carns remains on the critical list but has been taken off a respirator and is breathing on his own.
Carns reportedly was shot in the head three times by an intruder who entered his bedroom and raped his 29-year-old fiancee.
Meanwhile, the Los Angeles Police Department on Friday continued to decline requests for any information on two additional murder cases that the department says have been linked to the Stalker series.
