Capture of Ramirez

I would like to publicly thank all of the law enforcement personnel for all of their work in dealing with the Night Stalker. I am also grateful to the media for keeping the public well informed and alert to such a dangerous individual.

My hat is off today to the citizens of East Los Angeles for their action in confronting and capturing Richard Ramirez. Because of them we can all sleep better tonight. Although they might not regard themselves as heroes, in the minds of thousands, they are.
