Icahn reached an agreement with Texas Air Corp.
Texas Air Corp. and financier Carl C. Icahn reportedly have agreed to end the stalemate in their months-long battle for control of Trans World Airlines, allowing Icahn to proceed with his takeover of TWA. Neither side had any comment on the report. Quoting unidentified sources, the Wall Street Journal said Monday that Texas Air agreed during weekend negotiations to pull out of its merger contract with TWA in return for $51 million in stock profits and other payments.
