Clippers Make a ‘Real Offer’ to Benjamin
Significant progress was made Sunday in the Clippers’ attempt to sign first-round draft choice Benoit Benjamin, who has now missed two days of training camp at Cal Poly Pomona.
Clipper General Manager Carl Scheer presented Larry Fleisher, Benjamin’s agent, with what Fleisher termed a “real offer” Sunday morning. Although Fleisher and Benjamin rejected the offer, negotiations were expected to continue Sunday night and today.
While Scheer says Benjamin--the third overall pick in the draft--will be in camp soon, Fleisher isn’t so confident.
