Israel Names Alleged Killer of 2 Seamen
JERUSALEM — Israel’s military intelligence chief said Thursday that the killer of two Israeli seamen in Barcelona earlier this month was an Israeli Arab previously arrested here for guerrilla activity.
Maj. Gen. Ehud Barak identified him as Issahan Khurdy.
He said he has information that one of Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat’s closest aides had planned the murder of the seamen, whose tortured bodies were found in a Barcelona apartment Oct. 9.
Israel has blamed the Palestine Liberation Organization, headed by Arafat, for the torture-deaths of the two seamen, who were apparently lured to the house after being invited for a drink during shore leave.
